My library thing

I've added the little My Library Thing post to this blog. Interesting and again, sharing all with the world. I suppose others could get some ideas for good books to read by looking at many blogs. Books are one thing that should be shared.

I catalog books at work, so it doesn't really appeal to me to catalog my collection at home, somehow. I don't quite know how it would help me.

What would help would be some very large bookshelves to hold the books. Currently, the books are on a small bookshelf with the excess tottering and ready to fall at any moment.

Since I've added the five books to the list below, I'm starting to enjoy my reviews and I can actually see a purpose to all of this. You realize how much time you've spent reading and can recall and relive where you were when you read these books. It's actually a hoot and could be therapeutic.

I'm a changed woman, James Staub.

See, more than you wanted to know -- the nature of blogging.

Reading blogs

I've been directed to list some blogs that I enjoy on this brand new blog of mine. The list given as a directive consists of library blogs.

I don't generally read library blogs, but as a librarian, I suppose I should. I prefer political blogs, when I read them. I will try _free range librarian_ to get a taste of what's out there in the realm of the library blogosphere.

Well, this free-range librarian, a very clever and accomplished woman, Air Force veteran, writer, and librarian extraordinaire, seems to have built a small world of her own on the internet.

Once again, I feel pulled not to do the same myself. I feel that free-range has opened her skull up so that others may peer inside. I do not know her personally, and don't feel that reading every thought that comes into her head or event in her life will let me be her friend. The description of the installation of the cat-door was just one example of the minutia that one tells one's significant other while making dinner. No thanks!

Of course, the blog makes one feel bad for NOT living ones life on the computer, doesn't it? Aren't we all supposed to reveal ourselves here?

Maitai Dream Fakarava, Tuamotu Archipelago Aug 11, 2007

I'm learning how to blog and to work with Flickr.

This photo really got my attention. I've always wanted to be that person they show floating on crystal blue water with eyes closed.

I could definitely bliss out fantasizing about walking down that boardwalk to the little hut...

Just starting out...

Hello world,

I am just starting out with this blog as part of a Learning 2.0 project where I work.

Have never really wanted to publicize myself on the Web (wouldn't be prudent), but this is actually being encouraged during work time, so here I am.

I am interested in seeing how all this works.
